AMSTERDAM - COLOGNE - RUDESHEIM - HEIDELBERG - STRASBOURG - MAINZ - FRANKFURT - WURZBURG - NURNBERG - REGENSBURG - PASSAU - VIENNA - BUDAPEST

DAY 1 AMSTERDAM

Passengers are welcome to board the ship in Amsterdam at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabin, enjoy a welcome cocktail with the crew. We'll have dinner on board followed by an guided boat tour of the city.

DAY 2 AMSTERDAM

Excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: guided tour of the heart of Amsterdam, a truly delightful city with a rich and fascinating past.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Budapest by bike.
The afternoon, excursion for both packages: visit to the Keukenhof Gardens (open from mid-March until mid-May). Each spring, more than 7 million bulbs bloom in the garden, with a total of 800 varieties of tulips. During the rest of the year, we'll head out on an tour of Volendam and the Zaanse Schans. We'll return to the ship. Enjoy a free evening, or why not discover the famous Red Light District through an optional tour? We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 3 AMSTERDAM - NIJMEGEN - KREFELD(3)

Morning spent cruising to Nijmegen. Excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: the Kröller-Müller museum (2) located in the heart of the Hoge Veluwe National Park. This museum contains the works of many great modern painters and sculptors, and is home not only to a major collection of Van Gogh paintings but also works of Picasso and other the Impressionist painters.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: nature park Hoge Veluwe by bike.
Cruise on towards Krefeld, passing the towns of Wesel and Duisburg before arriving at our destination late evening. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 4 KREFELD - KOLN - KOENIGSWINTER

We'll begin to cruise in the morning. On our way towards Cologne, we'll pass famous German towns such as Düsseldorf and Stadt Zons. We'll arrive in Cologne in the afternoon. You can stroll the shops on your own or follow your host or hostess and tour the historical sections of the city. We'll then return to the ship and begin to cruise towards Bonn. We'll arrive in Konigswinter in the evening. The evening is free to do as you please. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 5 KOENIGSWINTER - RUDESHEIM

Cruise along the most beautiful section of the romantic Rhine, passing Koblenz and the legendary Lorelei rock, where lush vineyards and castles stretch as far as the eye can see along both banks. Once we arrive in Rüdesheim, feel free to set off on your own or take part in the excursion for both packages: Rüdesheim. After dinner, we'll accompany you on foot to the famous Drosselgasse and its numerous cafés, bars and music. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 6 RUDESHEIM - SPEYER or MANNHEIM

Morning spent cruising up the Rhine towards Speyer, passing Wiesbaden, Nierstein and Worms before arriving in Mannheim. Excursion for both packages: Heidelberg. We'll return to the ship at the end of the afternoon for dinner and our gala evening while the ship leaves for Strasbourg and cruises overnight.

DAY 7 STRASBOURG

We'll arrive in Strasbourg where we'll enjoy a panoramic tour and guided visit of the city. We'll have lunch in a local restaurant, and you'll be free to explore the city on your own in the afternoon. We'll return to the ship and begin to cruise.

DAY 8 MAINZ - FRANKFURT

We'll arrive in Mainz in the morning. Mainz lies at the confluence of the Rhine and the Main is a perfect blend of past and present. Tour the city with your host or hostess before begin to cruise towards Frankfurt. The afternoon, excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: sightseeing tour of Frankfurt, largest financial center in continental Europe. During our visit, you’ll be able to admire the clever combination of modern and ancient architecture.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Francfort Mainhattan and Main tower.

DAY 9 MILTENBERG - WERTHEIM

We'll stop over in Miltenberg early in the morning. Take some time to visit this peaceful town with its market place lined with half-timbered houses. Cruise to Wertheim. After we arrive in the late afternoon, explore the town on your own before returning to the ship. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 10 WERTHEIM - WURZBURG - KITZINGEN

Our ship will begin to cruise early this morning towards Karlstad. On arrival, we'll set off by coach for excursion for both packages: visit of Würzburg, famous for its Baroque-style palace. The ship will arrive in Würzburg in the late afternoon, and we'll begin to cruise to Kitzingen. Evening of entertainment on board. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 11 KITZINGEN - ROTHENBURG - BAMBERG

We'll cruise along the Main in the early morning before reaching Volkach. Excursion for both packages: guided tour of Rothenburg, a magnificent walled town set up high on the hills over the river—its narrow streets lined with picturesque half-timbered houses and workshops. It is one of the most beautiful towns on the historic Romantic Road. In the meantime, the ship will cruise to Schweinfurt where we board it once again before continuing on to Bamberg. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 12 BAMBERG - NURNBERG - MUHLHAUSEN

Cruise on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal. We'll arrive in Nuremberg in the afternoon. Excursion for both packages: tour of the city — a melting pot of cultural highlights. This old town and market are surrounded with Gothic-style buildings and half-timbered houses. We'll return to the ship during the afternoon and cruise to Muhlhausen in the evening. Evening of entertainment by the crew. We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 13 MUHLHAUSEN - REGENSBURG

We'll spend the morning cruising. We’ll arrive in Kelheim. Excursion for both packages: excursion to Regensburg, the fourth biggest town in Bavaria and a major industrial hub for giant firms such as BMW, Siemens and Triumph. The historic center is seeping with 20 centuries of history. The ship will join us in Regensburg in the late afternoon.

DAY 14 REGENSBURG - PASSAU

Cruise to Passau. Explore the town with your hostess, strolling the narrow romantic streets and admiring is Baroque-style buildings. We'll return to ship and cruise through the attractive region of Engelhartszell. Evening of onboard entertainment.

DAY 15 PASSAU - MELK - VIENNA

We'll arrive in Melk in the monring. Excursion for both packages: visit to the Melk Abbey, perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Danube. - We'll return to the ship after our tour and sail on to Dürnstein, arriving around noon. Enjoy some free time exploring this picturesque village, and its Baroque-style church—the most famous in the Wachau region thanks to the legend of King Richard the Lionheart. We'll return on board before cruising on to Vienna.
 Excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: tour of the city by night.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: waltzing lessons on board.
We'll remain in port overnight.

DAY 16 VIENNA - ESZTERGOM

Excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: tour of Schoenbrunn Palace and its magnificent park, the former summer residence of the Emperor of Austria and his family.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: The high art of Viennese living: Music and Viennese cafes. We'll stroll through the city and visit back stage in the Konzerthaus concert hall. After our tour, enjoy a steaming cup of Vienna Coffee and a delicious pastry.
You'll visit this magnificent city on your own. Optional (not included in the packages): Horse-drawn carriage ride though Vienna.
We'll return to the ship and cruise to Esztergom, passing Bratislava on the way. Tonight is our festive gala evening.

DAY 17 ESZTERGOM - BUDAPEST

Visit of Esztergom, the former capital of Hungary. The city remains influential, and is full of treasures such as the Neo-classical basilica and former Royal palace. We begin to cruise once again around noon. We'll arrive in Budapest in the afternoon. The Hungarian capital lies along the banks of the Danube and is one of the most attractive cities in Europe. Enjoy some free time to explore the city before returning to the ship. Excursion for both packages: guided tour of Budapest by night.

DAY 18 BUDAPEST

You'll have a day on your own, or excursions proposed:
CLASSIC : sightseeing tour of the metropolis that was once two distinct cities united only in 1873: Buda, with its winding streets, Turkish baths and Buda Castle; and Pest, whose panoramic view over the banks of the Danube is listed as part of the world's cultural heritage by UNESCO.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Budapest by bike. You'll see all the important sights of the city on an easy-paced ride, cycling through the historical center of Hungarian culture and many other legendary sites in Budapest.
Enjoy free time this afternoon to explore the city on your own. Optional (not included in the packages): discover Gellert baths and spa. After dinner, enjoy a free evening or attend an evening of traditional entertainment in Budapest.

DAY 19 BUDAPEST

Enjoy breakfast on board before disembarking.

For navigational reasons and passenger safety, the company and the captain reserve the right to modify the cruise itinerary if necessary. (1) Except on Mondays : optional visit of the Dutch open air museum of Arnhem. (2) Depending on piers availabilities, the stopover at Krefeld can be replaced with a stopover at Duisbourg. Alcohol abuse can damage your health. Drink in moderation.
