AMSTERDAM - WESEL - DUSSELDORF - COLOGNE - KONIGSWINTER - COBLENZ - MAINZ - WORMS - STRASBOURG - CHALON-SUR-SAONE - LYON - TOURNON - ARLES - AVIGNON

DAY 1 AMSTERDAM

We board in Amsterdam between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm and settle into our cabins. We are introduced to the crew over a welcome cocktail. Optional excursion common for both packages: visit of Amsterdam old town by glass-covered river boat. We moor for the night.

DAY 2 AMSTERDAM

Optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: guided visit of Amsterdam, a truly beautiful city where we can admire the rich architectural heritage from the 17th and 18th centuries. Often referred to as the “Venice of the North”.
DISCOVERY : Amsterdam by bike. This guided bike tour will last about 3.5 hours, and you’ll be able to explore and learn about all the must-see and out-of-the-way sites in Amsterdam.
Free afternoon or optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: excursion to Haarlem. The town has a rich history, with much evidence of the Dutch Golden.
DISCOVERY: Guided bike tour of Haarlem and the sand dunes along the flower route.
We return on board in Amsterdam in time for dinner. We set sail and continue our cruise through the night.

DAY 3: AMSTERDAM - WESEL - DUSSELDORF

Morning spent cruising. Optional excursions common for both packages: visit of the Dutch Open Air Museum of Arnhem before heading back to the boat in Dusseldorf. Evening of entertainment.

DAY 4 DUSSELDORF - COLOGNE - KÖNIGSWINTER - KOBLENZ

Morning spent cruising. Optional excursion common for both packages: guided visit of Cologne. Crossroads of Europe since the Middle Ages, Cologne has kept its importance as a vibrant commercial and industrial city as well as a cultural and religious centre. Transfer by coach to Königswinter where we re-join the ship. Afternoon spent cruising. Overnight stop.

DAY 5 KOBLENZ - MAINZ - WORMS

Morning spent cruising. Optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: guided visit of the town and the Gutenberg Museum (closed on Mondays).
DISCOVERY:  Touring Rhineland vineyards: Leaving from Mainz, you’ll travel to either Nierstein or Nackenheim to discover the largest Germany wine-growing territory in the area: the Rheinhessen. We’ll also enjoy a traditional bread, wine and cold-cut snack from the region.
Return on board in the end of the afternoon. Evening of dancing and entertainment. We continue our cruise through the night to Strasbourg.

 

DAY 6 STRASBOURG - Transfer by coach - BESANCON - CHALON-SUR-SAONE

We disembark around 9.00am and join our coach for the journey to Besançon a charming city renown forits architecture and history. After lunch we will go for a city tour. Besançon is famous for its Citadel, designed by Vauban and part of the UNESCO world heritage. We will then continue our coach journey to Chalons-Sur-Saone where we will arrive at the end of the afternoon. to board around 5:30pm. We will have time to settle in our cabins before we start cruising at 6:00pm towards Lyon. Presentation of the crew. We are introduced to the crew over a welcome cocktail. Dinner on board is followed by an evening of music and dancing. We continue our cruise through the night.

DAY 7 LYON - TOURNON

Optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: guided visit of the town. Lyon is wonderfully located at the confluence of the Rhone and Saône rivers. A panoramic tour gives us a chance to view all the main attractions and monuments in the city. Our coach then takes us to Lyon Old Town so we can visit the Traboules passageways.
DISCOVERY: Discover all of Lyon’s touristic highlights in only 2.5 hours and with little effort! Enjoy a leisurely bike ride around the lake in the Parc de la Tête d'Or and on the banks of the Rhône River. Don’t miss the tasting of local products and delicacies in the heart of Vieux Lyon! Afternoon spent cruising. Evening of music and dancing. We moor for the night in Tournon.

DAY 8 TOURNON - ARLES

Optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC:  guided tour of Tournon. We visit the imposing castle of Tournon, one of the finest castles in the Ardèche region. We conclude our visit with a tasting of regional products and wines.
DISCOVERY: We’ll leave on foot for the Cité du Chocolat in Tain l’Hermitage. Come and explore, smell and taste chocolate in all of its forms at the Valrhona discovery center. During the tour of our virtual factory, you’ll be invited to take part in short activities about chocolate. Lastly, we’ll indulge in a tasting of course!
Afternoon spent cruising. Evening of entertainment. We continue our cruise through the night.

DAY 9 ARLES - AVIGNON

Optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: guided visit of Arles. Here we discover an important cultural city, crammed with Gallo-Roman remains and a remarkably well-preserved Roman arena.
DISCOVERY: you'll be taken by coach to the starting point of a hike in the Alpilles Mountains to the village of Baux-de-Provence. You’ll have a great view of the legendary village and the surrounding valley.
Cruise towards Avignon, the afternoon optional excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: Guided tour of Avignon and visit to the City of the Popes and the fortified Palace
DISCOVERY: Hike along the pont du Gard and visit to the museum
Return on board. Gala dinner and entertainment on board. We moor for the night.

DAY 10 AVIGNON

After buffet breakfast on board we disembark at 9.00am. End of our services.
