DAY 1: AMSTERDAM
Passengers are welcome to board the ship in Amsterdam between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, enjoy a welcome cocktail with the crew before dinner. Excursion for both packages: Tour Amsterdam in a canal boat. We'll remain in port overnight.
DAY 2: AMSTERDAM
CLASSIC: Guided tour of Amsterdam, a truly beautiful city where we can admire rich architectural heritage from the 17th and 18th centuries.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Amsterdam by bike. This guided bike tour will last about 3.5 hours, and you'll be able to explore and learn about all the must-see and out-of-the-way sites in Amsterdam.
Enjoy an afternoon on your own or join us on the excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: Excursion to Haarlem. Dutch Haarlem dates back to Gothic times and this is reflected in its architecture and cobbled streets. It also offers a lively cultural scene, excellent shopping and fine dining opportunities.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Guided bike tour of Haarlem and the sand dunes along the flower route.
We'll return on board in Amsterdam in time for dinner. Our ship will cruise through the night.
DAY 3: AMSTERDAM - WESEL - DUSSELDORF
The morning will be spent cruising. Excursion for both packages: Guided tour of the open-air museum in Arnhem. We'll return on board in Düsseldorf. Enjoy an evening of onboard entertainment.
DAY 4: DUSSELDORF - COLOGNE - KONIGSWINTER - KOBLENZ
The morning will be spent cruising. Excursion for both packages: Guided tour of Cologne. At the crossroads of Europe since the Middle Ages, Cologne has retained its importance as a vibrant commercial and industrial city, as well as a cultural and religious center. We'll be transferred to Königswinter to board the ship once again. The afternoon will be spent cruising to Cologne, reaching it early this evening. We'll remain in port overnight.
DAY 5: KOBLENZ - MAINZ - WORMS
The morning will be spent cruising. Excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: Guided tour of Mainz(1) and the Gutenberg Museum (closed on Mondays).
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Touring the Rhineland vineyards. Leaving from Mainz, you'll travel to either Nierstein or Nackenheim to discover the largest Germany wine-growing territory in the area: the Rheinhessen. We'll also enjoy a traditional bread, wine and cold-cut snack from the region.
We'll return on board at the end of the afternoon. We’ll continue to cruise through the night to Strasbourg.
DAY 6: STRASBOURG - BASEL
This morning, join us on a guided tour of Strasbourg. The afternoon will be spent sailing to Basel. Tonight is our gala evening and dinner. We’ll keep sailing to Basel through the night.
DAY 7: BASEL - Coach transfer - BESANCON - CHALON-SUR-SAONE
We'll disembark in Basel and travel by coach to Besançon, a charming city renowned for its architecture and history. After lunch, we will go for a walking tour to discover its many historical landmarks. Besançon is mostly famous for its Citadel, designed by Vauban. We'll then continue on to Chalon-Sur-Saone and board our ship at 5:30 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, enjoy a welcome cocktail with the crew before dinner. We'll enjoy dinner on board and an evening of entertainment. Our ship will cruise to Lyon through the night.
DAY 8: LYON - TOURNON
CLASSIC: Guided tour of the city. You will discover the second largest city in France, situated at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône. A panoramic tour gives us a chance to view all the main attractions and monuments in the city. We'll then have some time in the old part of the city to wander through the passageways.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Discover all of Lyon's touristic highlights in only 2.5 hours and with little effort! Enjoy a leisurely bike ride around the lake in the Parc de la Tête d'Or and on the banks of the Rhône River. Don't miss the tasting of local products and delicacies in the heart of Vieux Lyon!
The afternoon will be spent cruising to Tournon. After dinner, join us for an evening of music and dancing on board. We'll remain in port overnight.
DAY 9: TOURNON - ARLES
CLASSIC: Enjoy a guided tour of Tournon. We'll visit the imposing Castle-Museum of Tournon-sur-Rhône, one of the finest castles in the Ardèche region. We'll conclude our visit with a tasting of regional products and wines.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: We'll leave on foot for the Cité du Chocolat in Tain-l'Hermitage. Come and explore, smell and taste chocolate in all of its forms at the Valrhona discovery center. During the tour of our virtual factory, you'll be invited to take part in short activities about chocolate. Lastly, we'll indulge in a tasting of course!
The afternoon will be spent cruising to Arles, passing Valence, Montélimar and Viviers. Enjoy an evening of onboard entertainment. Our ship will cruise through the night.
DAY 10: ARLES - AVIGNON
We’ll reach Arles in the middle of the night. This morning, excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: Guided tour of Arles. Discover an important cultural city, crammed with Gallo-Roman remains and a remarkably well-preserved Roman arena.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: You'll be taken by coach to the starting point of a hike in the Alpilles Mountains to the village of Baux-de-Provence. You'll have a great view of the legendary village and the surrounding valley before returning on board.
Cruise towards Avignon. This afternoon, excursions proposed:
CLASSIC: Guided tour of Avignon and the fortified Papal Palace.
DISCOVERY as a supplement: Hike along the pont du Gard and visit to the museum.
Tonight is our festive gala evening. We'll remain in port overnight.
DAY 11: AVIGNON
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.
