Passage through the Corinth Canal. There will be a lecture in the lounge. Come with us on an excursion to Mycenae. According to Greek mythology, Mycenae was founded by Perseus, who killed his grandfather and could no longer inherit the throne of Argos. The ruins of the Acropolis, the awe inspiring "Lion Gates", the shaft graves, the city palace and the "Tomb of Agamemnon" will transport you back to the time of ancient epics and legends. After, we’ll have a short visit to Nafplio - the first capital of modern Greece dominated by Palamidi Fortress. We’ll return on board at the end of the afternoon and enjoy dinner. The ship will depart for Itea and cruise through the night.

Day 3: ITEA - DELPHI - ITEA (GREECE)

Excursion to Delphi, which was believed to have been founded by Zeus. In ancient Greece, thousands upon thousands of pilgrims flocked here to hear the Oracle giver her predictions. You’ll see the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Roman agora, the Sacred Way and the well-preserved 4th-century BC theater. Don’t miss the archeological museum and its splendid collection presenting some of the treasures found in Delphi. After our tour, we’ll return to the ship and leave for Katakolon. There will be a lecture in the lounge.

Day 4: KATAKOLON - OLYMPIA (Greece)

Join us for a visit to Olympia, the sanctuary known for having been the site of the first Olympic Games. Running, wresting, boxing and chariot racing were all once part of this legendary event. We’ll walk through the impressive ruins of the area where athletes once competed. After our tour, we’ll return on board and continue towards Messina. We’ll spend the afternoon cruising, so enjoy the onboard activities during this time.

Day 6: MESSINA (Sicily)

Full-day excursion, including lunch, to Mount Etna and Taormina. The morning will be dedicated to Mount Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe. To the ancient Greeks, Mount Etna was the realm of Vulcan, god of fire, and the home of the one-eyed monster known as the Cyclops. The bleak lava wilderness around the summit of Etna is one of the most memorable landscapes you’ll ever see. Next, we’ll visit Taormina. Idyllically perched on a rock high above the sea, Taormina incarnates the legendary beauty of Sicily. Its Greek-Roman theatre is not to be missed.

Day 7: VIBO MARINA - CALABRIA (Italy)

Excursion to Calabria. Calabria is at the toe of the boot, the extreme south of Italy - lapped by the splendid crystal-clear Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas. We’ll begin our visit with Tropea, a seaside resort with impressive scenery. It has that lovely, timeless, faded feel characteristic of sleepy southern Italian seaside towns. Well enjoy a tasting of regional products before continuing on to Capo Vaticano, known for its dramatic cliffs, breathtaking views, and crystal-clear waters. Afterwards, we’ll head to Pizzo, one of the hidden gems of Calabria. The center of Pizzo is a picturesque network of narrow lanes bustling with modern Calabrian life. After our tour, we’ll return on board and begin to cruise to Salerno. Tonight’s entertainment will be provided by the crew. Our ship will cruise through the night.

Day 8: SALERNO - AMALFI COAST - NAPLES (Italy)

Excursion to visit the villages along the Amalfi Coast. We’ll discover Sorrento, and its extraordinary gardens and landscapes. Then we’ll visit Amalfi, with its sun-filled piazzas and small beaches. We’ll spend the afternoon cruising along the Amalfi Coast. Designated by UNESCO as an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape, the Amalfi Coast combines great beauty and gripping drama: coastal mountains plunge into the sea among the deep crags, picturesque towns and lush forests. We’ll arrive in Naples during the evening. Tonight’s evening will have a Neapolitan theme.

Day 9: NAPLES (Italy)

The morning will be dedicated to a visit of Pompeii. A reminder of the violent forces that lie deep inside Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii is Europe’s most compelling archaeological site and one of Italy’s most visited tourist attractions.
The afternoon will be spent on a visit of Naples. Italy's third-largest city is one of its oldest, most eccentric, and most delicious. We’ll discover the must-see sites such as Old Naples, the Royal Palace of Naples, and the Cappella Sansevero, containing the masterpiece Veiled Christ, renowned world over for the remarkable tissue-like quality of the marble. After our tour, we’ll return on board. Tonight will be our gala dinner and evening. Our ship will cruise through the night.
