DAY 1: Lyon - AVIGNON
Meeting early in the afternoon in Lyon in front of "Brasserie Georges" (address: 30 Cours de Verdun, near the Lyon Perrache train station), and transfer by coach to Avignon. Boarding at 6:00 p.m. Dinner on board, free evening. The town was already very important as early as the 12th century, due in no small part to the famous Pont d'Avignon (Avignon Bridge), which made crossing the mighty Rhône River much easier for the inhabitants. Overnight.
DAY 2: AVIGNON
Full board on board. Guided tour of the City of Popes, a citadel surrounded by ramparts and perched on a rocky outcropping over the river. In the afternoon, free time. Evening of entertainment. Overnight.
DAY 3: AVIGNON - VIVIERS
Full board on board. Morning spent cruising to Viviers. Arriving in Viviers and excursion through the Ardèche Gorges. The Ardèche has hewn through the cliff to construct a grandiose natural arch, the Pont d'Arc, 54m (177 feet) high. From here, the itinerary follows the famous “Route des Gorges” where you can explore the harmonious meanderings of the river. After the dinner, guided walking tour of Viviers and discover this medieval city. Overnight.
DAY 4: VIVIERS - TAIN L'HERMITAGE - VIENNE
Full board on board. Cruise on the Rhône towards Tain l'Hermitage, cruising past the towns of Montélimar, famous for its nougat. We then pass La Voulte, watched over by its castle up on high, followed by Valence, with Saint Apollinaire's Cathedral towering above, at the end of the valleys of the Isère and the Drôme tributaries. Arriving in Tain l'Hermitage, a pleasant little town nestled at the foot of the slopes alongside the Rhône, wine tasting in one of the fine wine cellars. Cruise to Vienne. Gala evening. Overnight.
DAY 5: VIENNE - LYON
Early in the morning, cruise to Lyon. Buffet breakfast on board. Disembark at 9:00 a.m. in Lyon at Quai Claude Bernard. End of our services.
