DAY 1: Lyon - AVIGNON
We'll meet up early in the afternoon in Lyon in front of "Brasserie Georges" (address: 30 Cours de Verdun, near the Lyon Perrache train station), and transfer by coach to Avignon. Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. Dinner on board will be followed by a free evening. The town was already very important as early as the 12th century, due in no small part to the famous Pont d'Avignon (Avignon Bridge), which made crossing the mighty Rhône River much easier for the inhabitants.
DAY 2: AVIGNON
Join us on a guided tour of Avignon, a citadel surrounded by ramparts and perched on a rocky outcropping over the river. The afternoon is free to do as you please. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.
DAY 3: AVIGNON - VIVIERS
This morning will be spent cruising to Viviers. We'll reach Viviers and set out on an excursion through the Ardèche Gorges. The Ardèche has hewn through the cliff to construct a grandiose natural arch, the Pont d'Arc, 54m (177 feet) high. From here, the itinerary follows the famous “Route des Gorges” where you can explore the harmonious meanderings of the river. After dinner, join us on a guided walking tour of Viviers and discover this medieval city.
DAY 4: VIVIERS - TAIN L'HERMITAGE - VIENNE
We'll spend this morning cruising on the Rhône towards Tain l'Hermitage, passing the towns of Montélimar, famous for its nougat, La Voulte, watched over by its castle up on high, and Valence, with Saint Apollinaire's Cathedral towering above, at the end of the valleys of the Isère and the Drôme tributaries. We'll reach Tain l'Hermitage, a pleasant little town nestled at the foot of the slopes alongside the Rhône. Take part in a wine-tasting session at one of the fine wine cellars. We'll return on board and cruise to Vienne. Tonight's our gala evening and dinner.
DAY 5: VIENNE - LYON
Early in the morning, we'll cruise to Lyon. Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. at Quai Claude Bernard. End of our services.
