DAY 1: BORDEAUX
Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Take advantage of some free time this evening to see the sound and light show in the city!
DAY 2: BORDEAUX
We’ll spend the day in Bordeaux, namesake par excellence of the region’s wine. The city’s history through its river and wine will be the introduction to your cruise through the heart of these world renowned vineyards. Join us for a guided tour of Bordeaux. On board our coach, you will first discover the main buildings such as the Palais de la Bourse and its reflecting pool. We’ll then set out on foot in the Chartrons district where the grand wine merchants developed exportation of the region’s wine in the 17th century because of the excellent river access. This afternoon, we’ll enjoy the “Bordeaux Wine Festival” along the banks of the Garonne. Your pass gives you access to the winemakers and distributors proposing tastings along an original discovery tour of the various wines: reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines including Entre-deux-Mers, Côtes de Bordeaux, Médoc, Graves, Saint-Emilion, Pomerol and Fronsac. In addition to experiencing the eclectic energy during this festival in Bordeaux, you’ll also be able to admire the more than 30 sailboats along the docks.
DAY 3: BORDEAUX
The morning will be spent in Bordeaux. Join us for a visit to the Wine and Trade Museum. Three cellars house unique historical objects and testimonies to the past and present Bordeaux wine trade - including the evolution of wine dealers beginning in the Middle Ages - warehouses and exportation. Enjoy some free time in the city. As we cruise to Pauillac this afternoon, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the Bec d'Ambès at the confluence of the Garonne and Dordogne Rivers. Join us for a lecture on board about the region’s vineyards.
DAY 4: PAUILLAC(1) - BLAYE
We’ll spend the day on a tour of the Médoc region. We’ll follow the Grands Cru Route and see many of the world famous châteaux whose architectures reveal the prestige found in this area. We’ll finish up our tour with a tasting at a well-known Grand Cru winemaker. Our ship will cruise towards Blaye. Join us for a visit to the city’s citadel and especially its exciting underground tunnels. We’ll then set off for a regional wine cellar to enjoy a tasting of the area’s renowned wines along with some local specialties.
DAY 5: BLAYE - LIBOURNE(1)
We'll spend the morning cruising towards Libourne. After we arrive, join us for a tour of Saint-Emilion. We’ll explore this UNESCO World Heritage town, including its enigmatic monolithic church. Don’t leave Saint-Emilion without having enjoyed a tasting of its namesake!
DAY 6: LIBOURNE(1) - BORDEAUX
Our ship will cruise on the Dordogne towards Bordeaux. Join us for a visit to La Cité du Vin. Opened in May 2016, this modern building - reminiscent of a lighthouse on the banks of the Garonne - is a unique invitation to voyage to the heart of wine and its traditions throughout the world. After our visit, return on board at your leisure. Tonight is our festive gala evening.
DAY 7: BORDEAUX - CADILLAC(2) - BORDEAUX
We’ll cruise toward Cadillac. Join us for a visit to the Sauternes region. Sauternes wine, world-famous for its quality and its unique sweetness, has been produced by vineyards in this unique region for centuries. We’ll enjoy a tasting during our visit before cruising back to Bordeaux.
DAY 8: BORDEAUX
Enjoy one last buffet breakfast before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.
