BORDEAUX - PAUILLAC - BLAYE - LIBOURNE or BOURG (1)- SAINT EMILION - BORDEAUX

 

Steeped in history, wine and natural treasures, the Bordeaux region offers an astonishing range of delights that captivate the eyes and taste buds alike.

 

 

DAY 1 : BORDEAUX

Boarding at 6:00 p.m. in Bordeaux. Welcome cocktail and presentation of the crew. Excursion common for both packages : guided tour of Bordeaux by night (reservation in advance is essential; please contact your travel agency).


DAY 2 : BORDEAUX - PAUILLAC(1)

Early in the morning, cruise to Pauillac. We will head down the Garonne River and then join the Gironde River, passing Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before arriving in Pauillac.
Excursions proposed :
CLASSIC and DISCOVERY : Helicopter ride(2) : fly over the gorgeous Médoc. Experience a bird’s eye view of the numerous châteaux and famous vineyards that give the region its reputation. It’s a once in a lifetime experience ! (excursion proposed as a supplement for the classic package)
In the afternoon,
CLASSIC : excursion to visit the Medoc (reservation in advance is essential; please contact your travel agency)
DISCOVERY as a supplement : Medoc: biking, wine and cheese. With a tour guide, you’ll leave from the port on your bike to explore the vineyards and prestigious châteaux in Pauillac. Then, you will taste a lovely glass of grand cru and some regional cheeses served in a prestigious château in the heart of Pauillac.
Evening of entertainment.


DAY 3 : PAUILLAC(1) - GIRONDE ESTUARY - BLAYE

Early in the morning, cruise to Blaye. Arriving in Blaye, this superb acropolis was the perfect look-out post to watch for invaders. The famous French military engineer Vauban built a citadel here, which is Blaye's undisputed major attraction today.
Excursions proposed :
CLASSIC : excursion along the Corniche, or cliff route. Guided tour of the citadel. And finally a tasting of the famous Blaye "praslines."
DISCOVERY as a supplement : Blaye and its underground monuments. After our tour, we’ll walk a few more feet to a local vineyard and taste some regional products with an excellent glass of wine.
Return on board. Evening of dancing.


DAY 4 : BLAYE - BOURG (1) - SAINT-EMILION

Start cruising towards Libourne.
Excursion common for both packages : excursion to Saint-Emilion. Return on board to Libourne. Gala dinner and evening.


DAY 5 : BOURG(1) or LIBOURNE - BORDEAUX

Cruise to Bordeaux, arriving later in the morning.
Excursions proposed :
CLASSIC : guided tour of the city of Bordeaux.
DISCOVERY as a supplement : Biking in Bordeaux. We’ll leave by bike from the Quai des Chartrons to see the locations and monuments in Bordeaux that have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. The bike tour will finish up with a visit to the wine museum, located just a few steps from our ship and our visit will be followed by a glass of wine and a snack of cannelé, a local pastry.
Evening of entertainement by the crew.


DAY 6 : BORDEAUX

Disembark at 9:00 a.m. End of our journey.

For the safety of our passengers, the captain and crew of the boat may decide to modify the navigational itinerary. The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call may be subject to change. (1) Depending on the tide, stopover in Pauillac may be replaced by Cussac-Fort-Médoc and Libourne by Bourg. (2) This excursion must be pre-booked in advance through your travel agent. Depending on availability and subject to favorable weather conditions. Alcohol can damage your health.
