Bordeaux - Sarlat - Périgueux - BORDEAUX - PAUILLAC - BLAYE - LIBOURNE or BOURG(2) - SAINT-EMILION(1) - BORDEAUX

Two regions offering wide cultural diversity and exceptional savors! Our tour includes a visit unveiling the prehistoric mysteries within the Lascaux II caves.

Day 1: BORDEAUX

Arriving in Bordeaux at the end of the afternoon, you’ll check into a 3-star hotel close to or directly in the city. After dinner, enjoy a free evening to do as you please.

Day 2: Bordeaux – Lascaux – Sarlat – Périgueux (The Perigord)

We’ll leave by coach with a guide to discover the Perigord region. Our first stop will be the commune of Montignac, within the heart of the Vézère Valley, to explore the Lascaux II replicas of the famous prehistoric masterpieces. In the afternoon, we’ll have a guided tour of the splendid Manoir D’Eyrinac gardens in Salignac-Eyvigues. To finish our day, we’ll visit Sarlat. We’ll then head to Périgueux, where we’ll settle into a 3-star hotel. The evening is free to do as you please.

Day 3: Périgueux (The Perigord) – Bourdeilles – BORDEAUX

We’ll have a guided tour of the historical city of Périgueux. After our tour, we’ll enjoy a tasting of different Bergerac wines and delights. We’ll then take a guided tour of the Château de Bourdeilles. We will board our ship between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Optional excursion common for both packages : guided tour of Bordeaux by night (reservation in advance is essential; please contact your travel agency).

Day 4: BORDEAUX - PAUILLAC(2) - The Médoc Region(1)

Early in the morning, cruise to Pauillac. We will head down the Garonne River and then join the Gironde River, passing Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before arriving in Pauillac.
Optional excursions proposed :
CLASSIC and DISCOVERY : Helicopter ride(3) : fly over the gorgeous Médoc. Experience a bird’s eye view of the numerous châteaux and famous vineyards that give the region its reputation. It’s a once in a lifetime experience ! (excursion proposed as a supplement for the classic package)
In the afternoon,
CLASSIC : excursion to visit the Medoc (reservation in advance is essential; please contact your travel agency)
DISCOVERY : Medoc: biking, wine and cheese. With a tour guide, you’ll leave from the port on your bike to explore the vineyards and prestigious châteaux in Pauillac. Then, you will taste a lovely glass of grand cru and some regional cheeses served in a prestigious château in the heart of Pauillac.
Evening of entertainment.

Day 5: PAUILLAC(2) - Gironde Estuary- BLAYE

Early in the morning, cruise to Blaye. Arriving in Blaye, this superb acropolis was the perfect look-out post to watch for invaders. The famous French military engineer Vauban built a citadel here, which is Blaye's undisputed major attraction today.
Optional excursions proposed :
CLASSIC : excursion along the Corniche, or cliff route. Guided tour of the citadel. And finally a tasting of the famous Blaye "praslines."
DISCOVERY : Blaye and its underground monuments. After our tour, we’ll walk a few more feet to a local vineyard and taste some regional products with an excellent glass of wine.
Return on board. Evening of dancing.

Day 6: BLAYE - LIBOURNE(2) - Saint-Emilion (1)

Start cruising towards Libourne.
Optional excursion common for both packages : excursion to Saint-Emilion. Return on board to Libourne. Gala dinner and evening.

Day 7: LIBOURNE or BOURG(2) - BORDEAUX

Cruising towards Bordeaux and arriving later in the morning. Disembark at 11.00 a.m. End of our services.

 


For an optimal organization of the cruise, the organization of excursions can be modified according to the tide.

Note to coach : coaches double floors are not allowed on many road in Gironde, including Libourne, Saint Emilion, Blaye.

For navigational safety reasons, the company and the captain are the only authorized persons who can modify the cruise itinerary. The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call; the order of the visits may be subject to change. (1) Optional excursions. (2) Depending on the tide, stopover in Pauillac may be replaced by Cussac-Fort-Médoc and Libourne by Bourg. (3) This excursion must be pre-booked in advance through your travel agent. Depending on availability and subject to favorable weather conditions. Alcohol can be dangerous to your health. Please drink in moderation.
