Often described as the prettiest town in Ontario, Niagara-on-the-Lake is a well-preserved, 19th-century village at the heart of Ontario's wine region. It's a quaint location to get that true authentic "Niagara" feel. We’ll then set out along the landscape of vineyards and orchards in the surrounding areas. This is a community of wineries with individual personalities--as distinctive as the wines they create--and each winery has its own unique story. Our goal will be to taste the famous ice wine, a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that were frozen while still on the vine. The grapes are often harvested after the New Year, which gives ice wine its characteristic refreshing sweetness balanced by high acidity. After our excursion, we'll return on board our ship.
