We’ll leave by coach to visit city of Ottawa (approximately 1.5 hours bus time). Once we arrive, we'll tour the nation’s capital to discover the most beautiful spots in the city. We'll see the centerpiece of Ottawa's downtown landscape, Parliament Hill, the political and cultural heart of the city. Its gorgeous Gothic style buildings overlook the Ottawa River, and this is where Canadian politicians debate the present and future issues of the country. The 53-bell carillon in the Peace Tower marks each quarter hour, and the Dominion Carilloneur performs daily free concerts. The grounds of Parliament Hill are dotted with numerous sculptures of important Canadians. Enjoy some free time at the ByWard Market. A salmon lunch will be served in a restaurant near the market and will include a complimentary glass of wine or local beer. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Canadian Museum of History. The museum’s main goal is to collect, study, preserve, and present the human history of Canada and the cultural diversity of its people. The Grand Hall on the building's first level is the museum's architectural centerpiece. Let your eyes wander high into the sky as you take in the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles and walk through the largest and most comprehensive exhibition about Canadian history ever created. We’ll return to our ship by coach (approximately 1.5 hours).
