We’ll leave for a visit of Kostroma. Historic Kostroma is the capital city of Kostroma Oblast, and a stop on Russia's Golden Ring circuit. Founded in 1152, the city suffered a devastating fire in the 1700s. While some pre-18th century structures remained intact, the city was rebuilt according to the wishes of Russia’s Empress Catherine. We’ll visit the 14th-century Ipatiev Monastery - its white walls, towers, and domes looking picturesque against the backdrop of amazing landscapes - and its stunning Trinity Cathedral. We’ll return on board after our tour.
