Description

Description

The group will be taken by a registered guide on a guided “Town of Art and History” visit of the episcopal city and the Brie de Meaux Exhibition Room. It is rare nowadays to find a town with such a well-preserved episcopal city. In Meaux, it is made up of an interesting grouping buildings in a wide range of architectural styles, incorporating medieval, Renaissance and classical. The visit will take you from Meaux Cathedral to the Bishops’ Palace, passing the Gallo-Roman ramparts and the magnificent Bossuet Garden, traditionally believed to be an early work of Le Nôtre. This is the chance for you to travel through time and history. Afterwards, you will have a visit to the Brie de Meaux Exhibition Room, where you will see a film that will explain to you the manufacture and processing techniques of this famous cheese from the region. After the Exhibition Room, you will have a tasting of the cheese, hailed as “the King of Cheeses” by Talleyrand in 1815, to conclude your visit. At the end of the visit, transfer by bus to St Jean les deux Jumeaux (PNC) or to Lagny-sur-Marne (CNP) to join the boat.
