We’ll leave on a panoramic tour of the main sites in the Russian capital. We’ll pass through the historic center, where the famous Red Square and Saint Basil’s Cathedral are located. Very little is known about the genuine history of the church except that it was requisitioned by Ivan the Terrible to mark the 1552 capture of Kazan from Mongol forces. It was completed in 1560. Nothing is known about the builders, except their names and the legend that Ivan had them blinded so that they could not create anything to compare. The Kremlin and Red Square are the heart and soul of Russia and the Russian equivalent of Pennsylvania Avenue, the White House and the Washington Mall. Lastly, we’ll enjoy the view from Sparrow Hills, one of the highest points in Moscow. We’ll return on board after our tour.
