We’ll leave by coach from Moissac for the Moissac Abbey and Cloister. The cloister of St. Pierre Abbey, finished in 1100, is a unique and perfectly preserved treasure of Romanesque art. The portal of the abbey church shelters a sculptural ensemble from the beginning of the 12th century of rare splendor. The diversity and finesse of its sculptures is the reason for the cloister’s renown. This finely sculpted tympanum was featured in the film The Name of the Rose, based on the novel by Umberto Eco. At the end of our tour, we’ll enjoy a tasting of products made from chasselas grapes, an exceptional fruit cultivated with respect for the soil and the natural environment. Lastly, the coach will take you to the top of the belvedere, where you’ll have a marvelous view of Moissac and the Tarn and Garonne rivers. We’ll return to our ship by coach.
