Description

Description

We’ll first leave by coach from Breisach with our tour guide to visit the charming village of Eguisheim. Enjoy a stroll around the ancient city walls and discover the village's quaint streets. You’ll also be able to admire the colorful, half-timbered houses typical of the region. We’ll see the parish church dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul (if you look closely, there is often a stork nest perched nearby), as well as the lower castle on Saint Leon Square.
We’ll then continue on to Munster, well-known, of course, for its cheese. In Munster, we’ll visit the ruins of the ancient abbey of Saint Gregory, the Stork Tower, the city hall and more.
Afterwards, we’ll travel by coach to a farmhouse inn for a traditional local lunch. This customary meal includes delicious farm products: meat pies, smoked meats, braised apples, Munster cheese and bilberry tarts.
The afternoon will be dedicated to discovering the Alsatian Wine Route. We’ll pass through magnificent villages: Albert Schweitzer’s birthplace, Kaysersberg; Bergheim, known for its witch trials; Ribeauvillé, the City of Fiddlers; and Riquewihr, in the heart of the vineyards. We’ll stop at a wine cellar on the Wine Route to taste the famous white wines of Alsace.
After our long day, we’ll return on board in Breisach.
