Package: Leipzig and Nuremberg

Day 1 Leipzig: We’ll leave by coach for Leipzig. With your guide, you’ll discover Leipzig, the city of heroes and music. Apart from being the hometown of Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn, it is also one of Germany’s hot spots and a center for commerce and culture. You’ll love its rich history, beautiful architecture, and great shopping.
We’ll discover the Gothic Thomaskirche: Martin Luther lectured here, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart played the organ, and Richard Wagner was baptized in the church. The St. Nicholas Church (Nikolaikirche) rose to national fame in 1989 with the Monday Demonstrations when it became the center of peaceful revolt against communist rule. We’ll also see the Auerbachs Keller, the best-known restaurant in Leipzig described in Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's play Faust as the first place Mephistopheles takes Faust on their travels. After our tour, we’ll check into a hotel in Nuremberg or the surrounding area for dinner and the night.

Day 2 Nuremberg: ?Nuremberg is Bavaria’s second-largest city and an energetic place where the nightlife is intense and the beer is as dark as coffee. For centuries, Nuremberg was the undeclared capital of the Holy Roman Empire and the residence of most German kings, who kept their crown jewels here.
We’ll leave by coach for a guided tour of the city, beginning with a panoramic visit to see the most important monuments located outside of medieval fortifications: the Nuremberg courthouse, Documentation Center and Nazi Party Rallying Grounds, Nuremberg Castle area, etc. You’ll discover the charming side streets and beautiful half-timbered houses before arriving in the Marktplatz. On foot, you’ll see the gorgeous Schöner Brunnen (beautiful fountain) and the Frauenkirche. Enjoy some free time to discover more of the city on your own. We’ll return to Strasbourg, stopping for lunch on the way (lunch not included in package).
