We begin the day with a small boat excursion in the pure water of the Yanayacu and Pucate Rivers in the Pacaya-Samaria National Reserve. This paradise is recognized as the biggest natural area in Peru. Including lagoons and marshes, it is home to 527 species of birds, 102 mammals, 69 reptiles, 58 amphibians, and some 300 species of fish. (In particular, you will encounter piranhas with our expert naturalist’s guidance.) On this excursion, you will be able to plunge deep into the rainforest and discover colorful butterflies, a variety of insects, and troops of noisy monkeys.
