Fine Cuisine and Heritage: A Fantastic Mix





Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Dinner on board followed by a guided tour of the city at night.


All meals served on board. We will sail down the Garonne to the Gironde, passing alongside the islands of Cazeau and Patiras before reaching Pauillac. Built long ago by wine merchants and sea captains, Pauillac has managed to preserve the former mansions of the old nobility along its waterfront, constructed with great blocks of stone. In the afternoon, join us for an excursion to the prestigious Médoc region. Nestled between the ocean and an estuary, the Médoc is a renowned region where the most famous of all the red wines in the world is produced. It's the perfect occasion to see some of the most renowned châteaux, such as Mouton Rotschild, Lafite Rotschild, Pichon Longueville or Cos d’Estournel. A wine tasting at the Château Lynch-Bages (or similar winery) will wrap up our tour. Southwestern France-style dinner. Tonight’s entertainment will be provided by the crew. We’ll remain in port overnight.

DAY 3: PAUILLAC - Gironde Estuary- BLAYE

We’ll begin to cruise early in the morning. All meals served on board. After we arrive in Blaye, we’ll leave on an excursion to the delightful city of Cognac, and enjoy a taste of the spirit in a cellar. We’ll return to the ship and cruise the Gironde to the estuary. We’ll cruise along the marshes and see the steep cliffs of Meschers-sur-Gironde, troglodyte homes and fishing cabins before reaching Blaye. Tonight is our festive gala evening. We’ll remain in port overnight.

All meals served on board. Our ship will leave for Libourne. After passing the Island Cazeau, we will continue along the Dordogne before reaching Libourne. While we sail, take part in an onboard presentation of the Canelés of Bordeaux, including a tasting. Later, we’ll have a guided tour of Saint-Emilion's underground monuments, including the enigmatic monolithic church carved out of one piece of stone in the hillside. We’ll then enjoy a tasting, with a tour guide, of a famous St. Emilion grand cru at a chateau. We’ll return to the ship in Libourne. Bordeaux-style dinner and entertainment on board.(3)

Enjoy breakfast on board as we cruise towards Bordeaux, arriving during the morning. You’ll disembark our ship at 11:00 a.m.

The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call; the order of the visits may be subject to change. (1) Depending on tides, the stopover in Bourg could be replaced by a stopover in Libourne. (2) Total transfer cost up to €120 (not including taxes; 2015 rates) included in price; customer is responsible for all costs beyond this amount. (3) Subject to availability of performers. Note to bus drivers: Double-decker buses are prohibited on many of the streets in the Gironde, most notably in Libourne, Saint-Emilion, Blaye and Cadillac.
