Avignon - AIGUES MORTES - ARLES - TARASCON - AVIGNON

DAY 1: Avignon - AIGUES MORTES

Transfer by coach from Avignon to Aigues-Mortes. Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail before dinner. Enjoy a “Christmas traditions”-themed evening.

DAY 2: AIGUES MORTES - ARLES

We’ll leave by coach for a guided visit of Aigues-Mortes and finish our tour with a tasting of the traditional sweet fougasse: a delicious light, ?at brioche with a subtle orange ?ower flavor. Enjoy some free time before returning on board. The afternoon will be spent cruising towards Arles. Enjoy a Christmas-themed evening onboard.

DAY 3: ARLES - TARASCON

We’ll set out to Paradou to visit the museum displaying more than 400 different santons. La Petite Provence du Paradou is reputed to be one of the largest nativities in the world. We’ll then return to Arles and visit the santon exhibition and tradeshow, displaying almost 300 years of this local tradition—from the very first models to the latest creations. After our visit, we'll return to the ship on foot. This afternoon, join us for a visit of candle factory (1) and discover the unique scents and colors of this traditional craftsmanship. Enjoy a Christmas-themed evening onboard.

DAY 4: TARASCON - AVIGNON

This morning will be spent cruising towards Avignon. Join us for a guided visit of the city, one of the most important cities in Europe during the Middle Ages, and the official residence of nine popes in the 14th and 15th centuries. While visiting the Christmas Market, we’ll discover santons: hand-painted nativity figurines traditional to the Provence region. Afterwards, we'll have a look at the large nativity scene at the Town Hal and then head to the Halles market (1) to discover the regional holiday treats. Tonight is our festive gala evening and dinner.

DAY 5: AVIGNON

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.

The cruise schedule may vary according to tides and arrival times at ports of call may be subject to change. (1) The Halles in Avignon: closed on Mondays and afternoons. The candle factory: closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Ask for detailed itinerary of the opposite-direction cruise. Alcohol can be dangerous to your health. Please drink in moderation.
