DAY 1: NICE
Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 5:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Dinner will be served on board, followed by an evening of entertainment in the lounge. We’ll remain in port overnight.
DAY 2: NICE - MONACO
The morning will be dedicated to a tour of Nice. Initially founded by the Greeks, the natural beauty of the area has attracted not only those in search of relaxation, but also those seeking inspiration. Nice has a thousand surprises in store: monuments, churches, gardens and footpaths, museums, artists, local crafts, and internationally renowned cuisine with the unmistakable flavors of garlic, olive oil and basil. While we have lunch, we'll cruise to Monaco. We’ll visit the legendary Rock of Monaco. The Rock of Monaco is a tall monolith surrounded by old quarter battlements in the heart of the City of Princes. You'll discover the old town through the narrow streets from the middle ages which lead to the picturesque Place Saint Nicolas and Placette Bosio, the Chapel of Mercy (exteriors), Palais de Justice and the Cathedral, a Roman-Byzantine style building built in 1875. At the end of the day, we'll set off towards Livorno. We’ll enjoy an evening of entertainment We’ll cruise through the night.
DAY 3: LIVORNO - Florence - Pisa - LIVORNO
Full-day excursion to Florence and Pisa. Nestling among the exquisite Tuscan hills, along the banks of the Arno River lies Florence, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. We’ll visit the historical center and get a peek of some of the most iconic buildings in Florence: Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and the Brunelleschi dome (exteriors), the Palazzo Vecchio on the Piazza della Signoria (exteriors) and the Loggia dei Lanzi. You'll even get the chance to shop for jewellery on the old Ponte Vecchio. We’ll have lunch in a local restaurant After lunch, we'll set off for Pisa, the city of the middle-ages that dominated the western Mediterranean thanks to its powerful fleet. Take your time walking through the la Piazza dei Miracoli and enjoy the religious buildings (exteriors - entrance fees not included): the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry, the Campanile, and the Camposanto Monumentale. You'll also have time to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Return to the Port of Livorno.
DAY 4: PORTOFERRAIO - Elba - CIVITAVECCHIA
We’ll arrive early in the morning. Elba is the biggest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and the third largest in Italy after Sardinia and Sicily. What really makes Elba famous and renowned are its clear blue sea and beautiful beaches. We’ll leave on a guided panoramic tour of the island to see the photogenic beaches at Biodola and Procchio. We’ll also stop at Marciana Marina, a charming, small city whose old town is considered among the most beautiful in Italy. Enjoy some free time before we hit the road again for Chiessi, a small hamlet surrounded by granite cliffs, and Pomonte, famous for its white sand beaches. We'll then head to the small fishing village of Marina di Campo, one of the best known resorts on the island dominated by its tower. After our visit, you’ll have some free time to sightsee on your own before heading back to the ship in Portoferraio. We’ll cast off for Civitavecchia. Tonight’s entertainment will be provided by the crew. We’ll cruise through the night.
DAY 5: CIVITAVECCHIA - ROME, the Eternal City
Join us for a full-day excursion to Rome, the “Eternal City” (lunch included). You’ll visit the exteriors of all the must-see sites of the Italian capital, including the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built, and the Roman Forum, holding the ruins of several important ancient government buildings. On foot, you’ll discover the grandiose Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the legendary Piazza Navona. After lunch, we’ll visit Vatican City to admire St. Peter's Square and Basilica, regarded as one of the greatest buildings of its age. At the end of our tour, we’ll return to the ship by coach. Our ship will cast off in the evening.
DAY 6: NAPLES
We’ll spend the morning cruising before arriving in Naples. The afternoon will be spent on a visit of Herculaneum. Herculaneum's fate runs parallel to Pompeii. Destroyed by an earthquake in 62 AD, the subsequent eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD saw it submerged in a sea of mud that essentially fossilized the city. Discover the wealth of archaeological finds, from ancient advertisements and stylish mosaics, to carbonized furniture and inhabitants. We’ll then return to the ship. Tonight we’ll enjoy songs and music from the Naples region. We’ll remain in port overnight.
DAY 7: NAPLES
Full-day excursion to Capri and Anacapri (lunch included).(1) We’ll take an airboat or a ferry to splendid Capri (depending on the crossing times). We’ll head to the village of Anacapri and visit the villa San Michele, built at the turn of the last century by Swedish physician and author Axel Munthe. Anacapri is located in the highest part of the island, and from the villa gardens you’ll have a fantastic view of the city of Capri, the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The area is saturated with the colors, scents and light of the Mediterranean. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time on your own or visit the Gardens of Augustus, offering splendid views of the sea and fantastic photographic vistas. We’ll return to Naples by airboat or ferry. Tonight is our festive gala evening. We’ll remain in port overnight.
DAY 8: NAPLES
Enjoy breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.
