DAY 1: BORDEAUX
Boarding in Bordeaux at 6:00 p.m. Welcome drink and presentation of the crew. Presentation of hiking program. Dinner followed by an evening of entertainment.
DAY 2: BORDEAUX -LIBOURNE or BOURG (1) -SAINTE EMILION
Full board on board. In the morning cruise to Libourne. Nestled at the confluence of the Isle and the Dordogne, Libourne has accumulated over the centuries a whole heritage.
Hikers' Program: Saint-Laurent-des-Combes, a vineyard build on the slopes. [Duration 2 - 2½ hours, distance 9km (5.6 miles), ascent 100m (330 ft)].
Non-hikers' Program: Excursion to Saint Emilion, which undoubtedly the most original monument is the monolithic church
Return in Libourne. Overnight.
DAY 3: LIBOURNE or BOURG (1) -PAUILLAC
Full board on board. We will head down the River Garonne, passing Cazeau Island and Patiras Island before arriving in Pauillac. In the afternoon:
Hikers' Program: Hiking the St. Seurinoise loop. Our trail will take us through estuary, vineyards and marshes to explore the Médoc heritage [Duration 2½ - 3 hours, 11 km (6.8 miles), no incline].
Non-hikers' Program: Discover the Médoc region, where most prestigious red wines in the world are made, nestled between an ocean and an estuary (reservation in advance is essential; please contact your travel agency).
Return on board, evening of entertainment. Overnight.
DAY 4: PAUILLAC - BLAYE - the Gironde Estuary
Full board on board. Early in the morning, cruise to Blaye. The famous French military engineer Vauban built a citadel here, which is Blaye's undisputed major attraction today.
Hikers' Program: Discover the Bourg region's vineyards and its preserved natural heritage. [Duration 3 hours, distance 10km (6.2 miles), ascent of 150m (492 ft)].
Non-hikers' Program: Excursion along the Corniche, or cliff route. The road snakes alongside the Dordogne River before revealing the Gironde Estuary.
Return on board and cruise along the Gironde as far as the estuary itself (Subject to clement weather conditions). We will pass the marshlands, Meschers-sur-Gironde with its steep cliffs, troglodyte houses and fishermen's huts before arriving in Blaye. Return on board, evening of dancing. Overnight
DAY 5: BLAYE - BORDEAUX
Full board on board.Cruise to Bordeaux, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bordeaux has obtained is classification as a “cultural site” worth discovering.
Hikers' Program: Hidden faces of Bordeaux. An entirely original hike through Bordeaux. [Duration 2½ - 3 hours, 7km (4.3 miles), no incline].
Non-hikers' Program: Guided tour of Bordeaux.
DAY 6: BORDEAUX
Buffet breakfast on board. Disembark at 9.00 a.m. End of our services.
For an optimal organization of the cruise, the organization of excursions can be modified according to the tide.
Note to coach : coaches double floors are not allowed on many road in Gironde, including Libourne, Saint Emilion, Blaye and Cadillac.
