Ricardo Moreira and Boats: A Story of Love at First Sight
For nearly 20 years, Ricardo Moreira, Douro Manager at CroisiEurope, has dedicated his energy and talent to ensuring that every passenger who sails the Portuguese river enjoys an unforgettable experience. With six boats under his supervision, he masterfully orchestrates every detail, creating moments that leave a lasting impression. But before reaching this point, his journey was one of passion and determination.
It all began with love at first sight-quite literally. When Ricardo first laid eyes on a boat with a white and green hull, he knew he had to be part of its story. A few years later, he discovered that the vessel belonged to CroisiEurope, and his destiny took a remarkable turn. In 2004, Ricardo joined the crew as a waiter. His enthusiasm, meticulous attention to detail, and natural empathy quickly earned him the trust of his colleagues. Rising through the ranks, he became a purser and later, in 2017, assumed the role of Douro Manager.
This demanding position places Ricardo at the heart of operations. From organizing the crew and coordinating excursions to managing transfer logistics and ensuring passenger satisfaction, he oversees every aspect of the Douro experience. Even off the decks, his guiding principle remains clear: "Always give a little more than is expected of me."
Ricardo's commitment extends beyond his day-to-day responsibilities. Passionate about sharing his expertise, he also dedicates time to training future pursers, instilling in them the importance of striving for excellence.
For Ricardo, working at CroisiEurope is far more than just a job-it's a lifelong love affair. His unbreakable bond with the boats, the Douro, and the passengers continues to inspire him with each passing season. One thing is certain: his passion sails on, stronger than ever.
