Rudesheim: small train and Music MuseumA little train will take us through the small alleyways of Rudesheim. The visit will continue on to the Music Museum, located in an old building from the 15th century, close to the Drosselgasse. We'll visit the "Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett" which holds an impressive collection of no less than 350 mechanical musical instruments dating back to the 18th century to the 20th, all spread out on more than 4000 ft². "You won't believe your ears” once you embark on a musical adventure into the world of historical automated instruments. This is a vast collection, dating back three centuries, of fascinating musical instruments that function like computers, ranging from tiny, delicate music boxes to an enormous orchestrion. Tools and machines for the production of organ pipes, cardboard sheet music, rolls of sheet music and perforated disks are also on display in the collection. You will then walk down the Drosselgasse, famous for its small restaurants with orchestras. Free time and return on board on foot. PLEASE NOTE The order of the visits can change. TournonWelcome to Tournon! Located in the heart of the Rhone Valley, at the gates of Provence, this city will enchant you with its heady perfumes. We'll begin our visit on foot passing all the main tourist attractions of the town, including the historic monuments and shopping areas. We'll stop at the Château Museum where we'll get the opportunity to discover the permanent collection tracing the history of navigation on the Rhone river. This imposing castle was built on a high granite rock overlooking the town and was the domain of the barony of the Counts of Tournon. At the foot of the castle, enjoy a pleasant walk along the streets and alleys of the historic center which will take you back to the Middle Ages. Our visit will end with a tasting* of regional products and wines. Return on foot to the boat at our own pace. PLEASE NOTE Comfortable walking shoes recommended. The order of the visits can change. Full-day excursion to CairoJoin us for an excursion to Cairo, “walking in the footsteps of the Pharaohs” (lunch included; approx. 10 hours total, incl. 4 hours round trip). The Giza pyramid complex is home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World: the “Great Pyramid of Giza” (137m) whose peak is still covered in the original white "casing stones” made of highly polished white limestone, its neighbors, the Pyramid of Khafra and the Pyramid of Menkaure (exterior views only). Not far from this jewel of symmetry, the Sphinx stands guard, arousing the admiration of passersby. Abou al-Hôl, literally the “Father of Terror” in Arabic, was called Sphinx by the Greeks because he resembled the mythical winged monster, who, according to legend, guarded the Greek city of Thebes, asking a riddle to travelers seeking entry into the city, and killing those who were unable to answer. It is thought to represent the Pharaoh Khafra. We’ll then continue on to visit the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo, one of the highlights of the day—housing, among other things, the Treasure of Tutankhamun. The Cap CorseThe Cap Corse is the northern-most peninsula on the island. Its long, windy road traverses the wild coastline offering view after view of amazing scenery: high cliffs, enchanted castle ruins, and picturesque villages. Leaving from Bastia, we'll begin our journey in Erbalunga, an adorable fishing village where you will enjoy some free time before your lunch in an idyllic setting. Continuation to the typical village of Luri (where we'll stop for 15 minutes) which occupies the deepest valley of the Cap Corse. We'll then head to Patrimonio, the well-known wine making region near the cape. Here, we'll enjoy a tasting of wine, cheese and local cold cuts. After our tour, we'll return to the ship in Bastia. Lonjsko PoljeDeparture by coach from Jasenovac towards Lonjsko Polje, the largest protected wetland in both Croatia and the entire Danube basin where you'll be able to admire migratory birds. We'll then move on to Krapje to attend a short introductive film about this particular region. We'll stop in the small village of Cigoc where we'll visit a typical local house with its stork's nests.
