Galilee and Lake TiberiasWe’ll set off by coach for our excursion to Galilee and Lake Tiberias, a freshwater lake known also as the Sea of Galilee or Kinneret in Hebrew. This is the main water source in Israel and is for Christians the place where many of the events described in the Bible occurred. The excursion will first take you to Cana (or Kafr Cana), where Jesus performed the miracle of transforming water into wine. We’ll continue on to the Mount of Beatitudes, from where there are wonderful views of Lake Tiberias. This is the hill where Jesus is believed to have delivered his “Sermon on the Mount”. You will also visit the Church of the Beatitudes, where the stained glass windows under the dome depict the eight beatitudes of Jesus. Next we’ll head for Tabgha, believed to be one of the most beautiful and most peaceful holy Christian sites and which was the scene of many gospel stories. You will also visit the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes which is said to contain the stone on which Jesus placed the five loaves and two fishes that he multiplied in order to feed a crowd of 5,000 people. You will also visit the Church of the Primacy of St Peter, built in 1933 by Franciscans and believed to be where after he had risen, Jesus reinstated Peter as chief among the Apostles. We’ll continue to Capernaum, which was the base camp for Jesus during his Galilean ministry. It was here that he was said to have preached to the synagogue and healed the sick, and where he chose his first four disciples Peter, Andrew, James and John from among the local fishermen. We’ll visit the Synagogue and the house of St Peter, of which only ruins remain and where Jesus was said to have lived. Next we’ll travel to Jordan where Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist. Duration: approximately 9:00 of which 4 hours will be spent on the transfer there and back Non-revealing, modest clothing is essential (gentlemen should wear long trousers and ladies should have their shoulders and legs covered). Good walking shoes are recommended. The order of the visits can change. Times are approximate.

Visit of the Dutch Open Air Museum of ArnhemDeparture from Wesel by coach in the company of your hostess for the Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem, which is located in a beautiful wooded park (44 ha). Some 80 authentic farms, windmills, workshops, houses, barns, a church and a school provide an insight on the everyday life and architecture of yesteryear. Inside every building, you'll be intrigued by the typical furniture and the displays of various trades and crafts. Some of the buildings are grouped together, such as the beautiful Limburg timber-framed buildings or the Gelderland farms, but the most charming spot is without a doubt the area dedicated to the Zaan region, with its green painted wooden houses and tastefully decorated gables. Our visit will start with the renovated entrance pavilion and its good vantage point over the park and its many windmills. There are farming implements on display in many areas, like the collections center. The lower level gives access to the spectacular panoramic theater HollandRama. In this mobile capsule, films, sounds, lights, smells and temperatures evoke different scenes, from cityscapes to the confines of houses. Return on board by coach. PLEASE NOTE This is a guided tour. Bags can be let to the left luggage office. Information in the museum (notice board) is given in Dutch, in English and in German. This optional excursion replaces the visit to the Kröller Müller on Mondays. The order of the visits can change. Times are approximate.

Tasting in a wine cellar in TokajDeparture by coach in the company of your guide towards the Tokaj vineyards and the Hetszölö domain, considered to be the most beautiful in all of Tokaj. You'll be greeted by an oenologist who will guide you through its vineyard and tell you about its meaning and history. The tour continues to downtown Tokaj where you'll learn more about the town's history through your guides while walking round the tiny Main Square. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a wine-tasting session in historic Rakoczi cellar. In the course of centuries the cellar, built at the beginning of the 15th century, was owned by kings, sovereigns, princes and generals. The imposing (28 m long, 10 m wide and 5 m high) knights' hall is the largest underground hall of this wine region and this is where the orders elected János Szapolyai the king of Hungary in 1526. There, you will get to taste* 4 Tokaj wines - from the driest to the sweetest - as well as "pogasca” (small savory buns). An oenologist from the cellar will provide commentaries throughout the tasting, telling you all about the traditions and production method for the famous "aszu” wine. After the tasting, enjoy some free time before returning to the boat at your own pace. PLEASE NOTE Caps, sunglasses and warm clothes for the tasting in the cellar are recommended. Good walking shoes are recommended. The order of the visits can change. Times are approximate. *Alcohol can be harmful to your health. Please drink in moderation.
